So grab a hook and some yarn, and soon you'll have your own Corn Star.

You will need:
A 6.5mm hook (K)
Worsted weight yarn (4) in yellow and green
Polyfil stuffing
Safety eyes (optional)
Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
tr - treble crochet
Dtr - double treble crochet
TrTr - triple treble crochet
Quadtr - quadruple treble crochet
Quintr - quintuple treble crochet
SextTr - sextuple treble crochet
SeptTr - septuple treble crochet
OctTr - octuple treble crochet
NonTr - nonuple treble crochet
Let's get crocheting!
When casting on, we will be tying 2 strands of the yarn to the hook.
Row 1: Chain 4, in fourth chain from hook, 12dc
Row 2: Chain 3 (does not count as dc), 2dc in the same stitch and each stitch around (24dc)
Row 3: Chain 3 (does not count as dc), 2dc in the same stitch, 1sc in the next stitch, repeat around (36dc)
Row 4 - 19: Chain 2 (does not count as dc) 1fpdc in the same stitch, 1bpdc in the next stitch. 1fpdc in the next stitch, 1bpdc in the next, repeat around. Slip stitch to the first fpdc to join. (36dc)
START STUFFING
Row 20: Chain 3, dc2tog, 1dc in the next stitch. Dc2tog, 1dc in the next. Repeat around, slip stitch to the first dc to join. (24dc)
STUFF FIRMLY
Row 21: Chain 3, dc2tog around. Slip stitch to the first dc to join (12dc)
Row 22: Chain 1, sc2tog, repeat around. Slip stitch to the first sc to join. Fasten off, weave in ends.
LEAVES
Make 4
To create the leaves, we will be using the treble crochet, double treble crochet and even taller crochet stitches. This is where that long list of abbreviations will come in handy! I have provided a tutorial via Moogly on how to make these stitches here:
I chained several different lengths and then working back along the chain, I would build the size of the leaf, starting from a sc, working all the way up to a Nonuple treble.
(When casting on, leave a tail to sew to the corn)
Chain 13, turn. Working back along the chain: sc, hdc, dc, tr, Dtr, Trtr, QuadTr, QuinTr, SexTr, SeptTr, OctTr, NonTr. Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew to the corn.
For a longer leaf, chain 25, then turn and working back along the chain: sc, sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, tr, tr, Dtr, Dtr, Trtr, Trtr, QuadTr, QuadTr, QuinTr, QuinTr, SexTr, SexTr, SeptTr, SeptTr, OctTr, OctTr, NonTr, NonTr.
Make 2 of each, then use the tail to sew onto your corn.
And you're done!!
