Big Bee Amigurumi Pattern

You will need:


  • 4mm crochet hook

  • Medium/Worsted weight yarn (4) in Yellow and Black

  • Polyfil stuffing

  • 10mm Safety Eyes


Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, make 6sc. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join.

Row 2: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in each stitch, slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (12sc)

Row 3: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (18sc)

Row 4: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next 2 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (24sc)

Row 5: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next 3 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (30sc)

Row 6: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next 4 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (36sc)

Row 7: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next 5 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (42sc)

Row 8: Chain 1 (does not count as sc) 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next 6 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (48sc)


(ATTACH THE EYES - I placed the eyes at approximately row 5)





Change to black

Row 9 - 12: 1sc in each stitch around, Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (48sc)

Change to yellow

Row 13 - 16: 1sc in each stitch around, Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (48sc)

Change to black

Row 17 - 20: 1sc in each stitch around, Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (48sc)

Change to yellow

Row 21 - 24: 1sc in each stitch around, Slip stitch to the first stitch to join. (48sc)


Change to black

Row 25: sc2tog, 1sc in the next 6 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join (42sc).

Row 26: sc2tog, 1sc in the next 5 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join (36sc).

Row 27: sc2tog, 1sc in the next 4 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join (30sc).

Row 28: sc2tog, 1sc in the next 3 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join (24sc).

Row 29: sc2tog, 1sc in the next 2 stitches. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join (18sc).


START STUFFING!!!


Row 30: sc2tog, 1sc in the next stitch. Repeat around. Slip stitch to the first stitch to join (12sc).

Row 31: sc2tog, Repeat around. Fasten off, weave in ends.


WINGS (Make 2):





The wings will be made in rounds, instead of rows.


With white, chain 2.


Round 1: In the second chain from hook, 6sc

Round 2: 2sc in each stitch around (12sc)

Round 3: 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next. Repeat around (18sc)

Round 4: 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next two stitches Repeat around (24sc)

Round 5: 1sc in each stitch around - in the next stitch, hdc, chain 1, hdc (this creates the points of the wings). 1sc in the next stitch. Fasten off, weave in ends.


Attach some yarn in between the half double crochets to tie to the body. I sewed the wings at row 15, (around the middle) fairly close together.
